You can be a part of the network of assistance that Starkey provides to nearly 500 people through skill building, community engagement, residential support, and on-site and community-based employment opportunities. Without your support, the amazing outcomes that happen every day would not be possible. Thank you for your assistance! I would be happy to answer any questions or provide tours of our facility. Building Lives Capital Project
For almost 50 years, Starkey’s Community Living program has been a critical resource for hundreds of adults with disabilities every night with over 250 people calling one of Starkey’s 42 local residential locations a home. Starkey is at a crossroads, out of room, working with outdated and inaccessible homes, at capacity with additional people in the pipeline, Starkey needs to expand!
Starkey’s newest group home concept is the University Housing Project, located at the 6000 block of West University St. Three, six-bedroom group homes would be constructed on land already owned by Starkey for an additional 18 adults with intellectual disabilities. Estimated at $2.1 Million, these three, 4,250 square-foot homes support a wide range of needs and provide appropriate accessible capacity!
- Larger bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate people with mobility issues.
- Durable construction materials and techniques will be utilized to limit damage and costly repairs.
- Smart rooms and offices for staff to better provide consistent and reliable support.
We ask that you consider a gift to support the Building Lives Capital Project and help build lives in our community.
