Starkey offers the following state-funded services, so they are at no cost to your company:
- Onboarding – support new hires and their team to successfully transition into your company.
- Training – hands-on support of your training process, ensuring the manager and new employee are equipped with strategies that promote learning and performance.
- Performance – offer options for performance reviews, brainstorm solutions to challenges, support career advancement opportunities.
- Change in duties/managers – we can provide more intense support to smooth transitions in staff or changes in job duties.
As your employee gains proficiency, our job coach will gradually reduce their presence, transitioning to a supportive resource role with monthly check-ins.
Our job seekers possess a wide range of skills that are applicable across different industries. They can fill existing roles or we can assist in creating a customized position that can assist your business during peak hours or help support your staff. We recommend asking your management staff if you had an extra person here, what would you want them to focus on? What are some tasks that employees can get behind on easily?
Finding long term, reliable entry level employees can be challenging. Our supported employment program here at Starkey has a proven track record of high standards for our the people we support that translate into high standards in the workplace. Most of our new hire placements have remained employed after one year. Many individuals have been employed over 5 years, our longest being 23 years working in the community! We strongly believe that the partnership can and will increase your workforce and business performance.
Starkey strives for the optimal job match, taking in consideration of job tasks and company culture. Should issues arise during their employment, a Starkey employment specialist will come out and assist in troubleshooting and addressing the problems. If the job match is not a fit, we support you in your company’s corrective action process and an amicable separation.

Kevin wants to find a job working at a daycare center. He has no paid work experience, but has completed assessments through several local businesses. He has been working hard on developing childcare skills and received his first aid and CPR certification over the summer. In his free time, he enjoys going to church and volunteering with the Miracle League as a baseball coach.
Montreal

Jordan is looking for a job stocking shelves. He has limited work experience that includes hanging and sorting clothes, bagging dog bones for a local company, and making kits for an aircraft company. When he is not working, he likes to play Yu-Gi-Oh and go on walks with friends. His strengths include being friendly, organized, and outgoing.
