Individuals in Starkey’s Life Enrichment Program have been spending time in the kitchen, then sharing the cookies and cupcakes they make with those in uniform.

“Some of our persons served really like firefighters and police officers,” said Brenda Bannister, Life Enrichment Supervisor. “They enjoy doing this volunteer activity and visiting with our local heroes – this is is how they show their appreciation.”

At Wichita Patrol West, 661 N. Elder, officers were shocked and excited, said Kylie Martinez, Program Trainer. “One officer spent time greeting Starkey individuals on the bus – she said she was very grateful, and that she felt appreciated.”
